The Baja Designs Squadron XL is the newest edition to the Squadron family offering more distance and effective light output than the smaller, standard Squadron.
The Squadron XL utilizes the same optics as Baja Designs OnX light bar and features 4300 raw lumens. The Squadron XL is essentially an 8" OnX is a different form factor.
This Squadron XL wide-cornering beam pattern features 4 LEDs and a proprietary, fluted, wide-cornering, ClearView optics lens. The main difference between the Squadron and
the Squadron XL is going to be distance. The Squadron XL will give you a wider beam of light which will in turn appear brighter. The Squadron XL will provide
the smooth beam spread you expect from an HID with the energy efficiency and brightness of an LED. The Baja Designs Squadron XL wide-cornering led light is an ideal choice for the Zone 2 light area for cornering and turning in order to light up the area in your peripheral vision.
Baja Designs is able to get more output of their lights due to their CopperDrive technology. Baja Designs uses copper core LED boards which dissipate heat better than
FR-4 plastic or aluminum clad boards that others use. The better thermal properties of copper allow Baja Designs to drive their OnX LED bars to their full capacity, instead of having to turn back or limit
the power in order to prevent the light bar from over heating. This means that you get more effective lumens and more usable light than the other LED bars on the market.
Another advantage of the Baja Designs Squadron XL is the UService technology. Because of the design, you the customer are able to remove the lens and to change the beam pattern of your light.
This light comes as a spot and has a clear lens. If you change to a split, clear and wide-cornering lens, you will have a combo beam, and if you change to a full wide-cornering lens,
you will get the wide cornering beam. You have the flexibility to get 3 lights in one by simply changing out the lenses.
Finally, the Squadron XL light features a dimming and strobing function that is built into the light. We recommend using the Baja Designs mode switching harness with a momentary push button switch.
If you click the switch, it will switch between off, full power, and half power. If you hold the switch in for 2 seconds, the light will go to a strobe pattern and flicker.
